Glendo trail building day THIS SATURDAY!!!

This is a reminder that we are hosting the final volunteer trail building day at Glendo State Park this weekend.  Should you wish to participate, please let us know so that we can provide enough food for participants.

Lunch will be provided by Ragged Edge Sports, from Casper.

We have 15 miles of trail on the ground with another 8 to 10 expected complete by fall, 2012.  This means that Glendo State Park will be a viable destination for trail enthusiasts.  We will have a bridge installed at Hytrek draw this fall or early spring when the ice melts off the lake to address some water issues accessing Sandy Beach/Dunes campgrounds.

As always, we have a great time building trail and meeting folks of similar interests.  Moreover, we will be prepared to hike and bike the trails after the event.

Meet at Two Moon group shelter at 9am.  We usually wrap up by 3pm or so.  Two Moon is located just past Glendo State Park Headquarters on the left.

We hope to see you there! Please bring sunscreen, hat, gloves and decent work boots or shoes.  Weather.com states the the weather for Saturday will be a high of 82 with little to no chance of rain.

Races start at 6:10pm.  So get there early to warm up.  Race starts near the bleachers behind the nordic center on Casper Mountain.  New to this race is the "King and Queen of the Mountain" prize.  This will be awarded to the first Man and first Women in the A and B categories who make it to the slash pile (highest point of the race... around mile 3) on the first lap.  The person who wins this prize will be warmed up before the race starts and that person will set a blazin' fast pace of the start.  I think it will be tough for someone to win both the King of the Mountain and the overall win for the night.  Pace Yourself!!

Have fun and see you at the races!!

PARTY!!!!

Have you joined us on Facebook yet??  I only ask, because the latest and newest of all news can be found there on FB.  It is such an easy tool for communication (although I will admit it can be overused which just makes it annoying, thus leading the reader to not pay attention because the content becomes useless at best).  Anyway, I highly suggest you find us on FB so that you can stay in touch with the Fish with whatever we might be up to from day to day.

There are some exciting new things coming up soon.  First up is the Finale to the Fat Fish Racing Monday night series which is this Monday on the 20th.  The next event is the Post Season Party on the 22nd at Washinton Park in Casper.  Ride your bike to show Casper what you are about and bring a friend too if you like.  Just make sure you RSVP on the FB event page so we know what to provide.  That night, you will get to drink free dranks, eat free BBQ which will be provided by our awesome sponsor, Compression Leasing, and we will award prizes to some very special and very fast individuals from the past race season.

Another night I'm looking forward to is the next full moon night ride.  This will be the only full moon night ride on a Friday night.... so lets stay up late and take advantage of the "blue moon".  Did you know that it will be a blue moon?  That is pretty rare, and it happens when you have two full moons in one month.  I'm thinking like a 6 hour race or something??? I'd have to get some requests before I start planning that.

After this fun stuff is the Fish StiCX Cyclocross series.  This will be a short series of kick butt, spectator friendly, and fun filled cross races that will make you wish you found this sport years ago.  Can't Wait!!

See you Monday!

OH NOOOOOOO.... The mountain bike racing season is almost over :(   On the down side, there is only one more Fat Fish Racing Series race for you to compete in.  But, on the up side, is another Biathlon race, the super awesome Fat Fish Racing CYCLOCROSS Series and coming THIS WEEKEND....... The first race of the WY HS MTB League.  Youth and adults all over Wyoming, Colorado, The Black Hills and folks in Billings too, think this race league is sweeeeet.  All you have to do is show up.  So many people, including myself sometimes, say things like "awe jeez, what if i'm the only one there.... I better just stay home and sleep so that I don't get bored".  What I say to that is, "Hey you dope! quit being a follower and take the lead on something for once!!".  What would have happened without the leaders of Fat Fish???  What if they just gave up after the first race that they hosted when only 3 racers showed up besides the race hosts??

This League is for the kids!  But to encourage participation of the whole family, there is an event for everyone.  Bring your noise makers and camera's, this is gonna be a fun one :)  Check out the flyer below for schedule of events this weekend.
