The Bessemer Mountain Climb does have a little single-track. Most riders will zip through it in under 5 minutes. I thought I'd share a portion of it with you to get you pumped up about the race. Please excuse my slow running speed. I... I.... was wearing boots... yeah..... that is why I was slow ;)

Pumped to race again
Hey racers!!
Being inside today during this rain has got me really wanting to get out and race. I can't wait for the mountain climb. The Bessemer Bend Mountain Climb is going to be an awesome battle from start to finish. I just want to clear some things up in case you didn't race it last year.
~The Beginners will not be riding to the top of the mountain.
~The Beginners will be timed on an honor system where you write down your own time on a clipboard when you reach the top of the hill. Race start for Beginners is 6:00pm.
~The Beginners will race/ride the same 4 miles of gravel/two track as the rest of the categories, but will turn off and climb a shorter hill that is only about .3 miles long.
~The Expert and Sport categories will race the exact same course as last year which includes 4 miles of very gradual climbing on gravel/two-track until you reach the base of the mountain. Then it is exactly a 2 mile climb from the base to the peak of Bessemer Mountain.
~The Expert and Sport categories will all leave at the exact same time (6:15pm)
~No racing down the mountain. Enjoy your ride down and take your time to soak in the beautiful views.
~Single speeders..... Good luck :) I think Belser rode a 33x19 last year and said that he was suffering, but you SS are used to suffering anyway. I predict that a guy with gears will win this course because the opening 4 miles will be too fast for any SS to keep up and then the geared riders will be too far ahead for any SS to catch up on the 2 mile climb up the mountain.... But hey, maybe I'll get proven wrong.
More info coming soon
Get out and ride! If you didn't do your 40 minutes of intervals yesterday, then get out in the rain tonight and destroy those legs. Pain is good. That means your getting faster :)
Have a great weekend and good luck at the Trail Festival Race in the Black Hills this weekend for all you racers headed North.

The first Fat Fish Racing series race is in the books and results are posted HERE. It was so cool to see all 101 racers lined up at the start for the pre-race meeting. I know that I was not setting a great example of this, but it must be said that we need to pay more attention at these prerace meetings so that we understand the course as much as possible. I heard there was some confusion in which color arrows to follow ;)
101 racers is so awesome! That is closer to 40 more racers than we had at our largest event last year. Oh, did you know that there was a high school graduation happening that night as well!! I'm sure many racers were attending that ceremony. This is really exciting and we are going to make some changes to the finish lines so that we can get everyones bib number and time right. With so many sprint finishes and groups going through the line at once, timing can be tough. So thanks for understanding
There were a few GoPro video camera's, tones of phones taking pictures and many camera's taking pictures. If you have some that you would like to share, please do on our facebook page or email them to me at fatfishracing@gmail.com Thanks and I look forward to see you at the races.

Jersey Order Due in Two Days
Hi racers. Great race tonight! It sure was fun in the extremely competitive Expert category. If you have any photo's that you'd like to share, email a link or the photos to fatfishracing@gmail.com and I will share a few of them.
On Thursday morning of this week, I will be waking up and putting in another jersey order. A lot of people "say" they want a jersey, but I'm just not getting the emails. I have the ten jerseys that are needed to make an order now and I will get that done, but want to offer you one more chance to get one. We will not be making another order this year. http://v-gear.com/Sizing here is the website to check out sizing. Email Adam at fatfishracing@gmail.com with the style of jersey(short sleeve/long sleeve/ winter/ etc), the cut of the jersey (race, sport, club), Size of the jersey, and the style of zipper (full length or 3/4 length). After having both styles of zippers, I highly recommend the 3/4 zip.
Don't wait.

The Crossroads Crusher!!
Man it's going to be a busy weekend. You could clean up the parkway trail, build trail at Glendo, race the Battle the Bear(Front range 60), graduate, etc. Find some thing fun to do in the middle of all the hectic craziness this weekend and then meet us at Crossroads park( by Mike Lansing Field) for the first race of our summer series. The CROSSROADS CRUSHER!!!! Beginners will look at between 4-5 miles, about 10 for the sport class, and 15 for the experts. Stick around for the food and prizes. Registration/ check-in is between 5:15 and 6:00. the races will start promptly at 6:30. Experts will go first and then we will send different waves every one minute afterwards. Should be lots of fun. Trails Festival Results
Hey Folks,
How's everybody feeling. Hopefully bad and good. Bad because you just gave it your all in the name of FUN, and good because you helped support such a good cause. The CAMBYR team should be off to a great start because of your help, and are super grateful for all that was done on their behalf. I heard of a few small wrecks but no big injuries. We saw lots of smiles and people having fun.
The Windy City Striders started off the Festival with a run where approximately 30 runners gave it their all. I think we even saw a lot of them later in the day with a bike underneath them and a helmet on their head. Winning times were about 30 minutes. The calm, cool morning was perfect running weather.
The weather held out for most of the day, and at 10 AM the beginners were off to a fun start. These guys and gals set the tone for the rest of the day, and had a great race and lots of fun. This is where the Jr. High boys and girls raced. They are the up and comers for the CAMBYR team and will be a strong force in the future.
The Sport class also had great weather and this group was HUGE!! There were a lot of racers and it was fun to see them spread out all over the trail on the hill below the college. Some of the CAMBYR team got to show their stuff and get a little experience on the race course. Hopefully they can make it to all of the summer series and get some unofficial practice time in.
The expert class was a blitz from the beginning. It took a couple of laps to get them spread out and it made for good entertainment to watch them. A few of them were looking really strong for this early in the season and should produce some good results in the future races they have lined up in the mountain states region.
I might have missed the highlight of the day when about 8-9 kids took off and raced. I've just seen pictures but it looked like they were having all kinds of fun!
All in all it was a great day day for racing, lots of money was raised, and the fish got a good warm up for what is to come for the summer race series. For those who came for the first time we hope to see you again and those who have been before we hope you've been re-stoked(I don't know if that's a real word) to ride for the summer.
Here are your results:

Last Minute Details
Hey Racers,
Hopefully everyone is super excited to race this Sat. We appreciate everyone's willingness to support the CAMBYR team and hope that everyone has a good time doing so. We also want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable race day. To accomplish that, make sure you show up a little early. We are doing our best to promptly start at the designated times. We have three start times(10, 11, and 12:30) Ten minutes prior to each of those start times we will hold a pre-race meeting. It's here that you will be briefed on any safety issues, course concerns, etc. We may be a little limited on parking if we have a huge turnout, and for this reason encourage you to car pool or park nearby and ride to the race. For those wishing to spectate the start/ finish will be good as most of the prologue is visible from the parking lot. Another good place is up at Yesness Pond. Thanks again and look forward to seeing and meeting new and familiar faces.

Saturday is going to be SOOOOOO AWESOME!!!! First of all, the weather is going to be crazy nice. Secondly, there is going to be some great races to watch with custom awards for the top 3 in every category (even junior high girls and junior high boys (6th - 8th graders), so get your friends out there to race with you. The course is really fun too!
Games all morning long and we will be introducing a new thing here to Casper racing..... TECHNO HILL. Some techno music as you climb up one of the hills during the race aught to be just enough motivation to hammer those pedals harder than ever before :)

Platte River Clean-up link
Attention all mountain bikers. There are only TWO scheduled trail cleanup days in all of 2012. Show your appreciation of these trails and of the environment by making it to these two events. The first will be the Platte River Parkway Clean up held on May 19th. The second will be on Casper Mountain June 23rd (the day before the 12/24 club Mountain Sports mountain bike race) held in conjunction with the annual Arbor Day tree planting. Both events rely on volunteers to make our city beautiful. Please attend both and be sure to bring your bike along too for some after clean-up trail rides :)

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR TRAIL FESTIVAL
Hey Psychotic Cyclotic Sidekicks!!! Register now for the trail festival. A gang of us pre rode the course last night and had a blast. There is a lot more single-track then you know about at Mike Sedar Park. It is going to be a ton of fun. About 10 people are signed up for the Lunker (Run AND Bike) category and I know of another 10 or so that said they are planning on it!! That is awesome. There will be some games for everyone to play and there will even be a kids race. Tiny kids can ride around in the grass for a few laps, while some of the older kids can ride the beginner prologue lap. Little 5 year old Fisk rode the whole prologue last night even!
You're only going to get the t-shirt if you register online!! So why not save money and get a t-shirt to boot? Day-of registration is 35 dollars and only cash will be accepted.
