Ride cancelled

Sorry folks, but I am going to cancel the ride we had planned for this Thursday. A combination of nobody RSVP'ing and that I am now doing the Enduro and need to spend more time on the bike. Today was a three hour and twenty minute ride with Leif and I need to do that a couple more times before July 31st to be as ready as I can.

Hope to see you at the Enduro and if anyone wants to ride a few hours on Thursday or early next week, feel free to email and I'd love to join you.

Adam

Oh, Nationals was awesome! I loved the course, but it really whooped me. 70 people came in ahead of me in the Cat 1 category out of more than 200 racers. I was really hoping for a better placing in my age group which was 9th out of 18. Top 3 advance to the Pro category. Next year if I can shave off 5 minutes (which I think is completely possible) I would be in the top 3.

Thursday Night Hill Climb and a half

Come one, come all to Casper's next greatest bachelorette... oh sorry there, since Ali didn't give Kirk a rose I've just been lost. haha just kidding, but seriously, Kirks dad ruined his chances.

Anyway.... Clear the calendar because you are going to want to make it to this one. Thursday, July 22nd is going to be the next Fat Fish Racing group ride. This hill climb will have two categories. The Bessemer Mountain Climb (for beginners and anyone who wants to just get to the top the easiest way) and The Bessemer Mountain Climb And A Half (this is for everyone who wants to scale the front of the mountain first then go back down and around to the back side of the mountain and up again).

The finish line is at the TOP of Bessemer Mountain. The views are amazing and you are going to want to make it here. As you may know, Bessemer Mtn is nearly all land locked and the land owners around it are giving us the opportunity to explore for this one day.

Free food and drinks afterwards.

I'm headed to the National Mountain Bike Championships but after this weekend I'll be back to give you more information.

See you out there.

Thursday night recap

Thank you to all who showed last night on Casper Mountain. The course was super fun and super fast. I used most of the loop that was part of the race a couple weeks ago on the mountain, but we did 3 short-cuts that eliminated a couple hills and the loop around the nordic center. There were a total of 12 of us at the ride last night with 4 of us doing 4, 4 mile loops and the rest doing 2 or 3. There was even a couple folks from Torrington, WY who drove hours to get here for the Fat Fish Ride.

Thank you everyone for coming and enjoying the ride, the conversations, the hot dogs and the fun that we all have on our rides.

Thank you to..................
for the donation of food for the ride last night. I just got some work done on my bike from Phil at Mountain Sports and my bike is running like it did 3 years ago when it was new. Thank you Mountain Sports.

As of right now, the Fat Fish Racing team is looking for more donors for foods after the rides. 25 dollars is all it takes to sponsor one of our events (as long as our rider numbers stay sort of low). So, if any of you are interested in being a donor, please email me at leiferman.adam@gmail.com.

In other news, there has been a bunch of people interested in the Fat Fish Racing jersey. We are going make another order ASAP. If you want to get in on some of this awesomeness, please email me at the above email as soon as possible. Short sleeved jerseys are just 43 bucks while a long sleeved jersey, as pictures below, is only 53. A long sleeved WINTER jersey is 54 dollars. Email or call one of us Fat Fish as soon as possible if you are interested. The order will be made very very soon, so time is of the essence.

In even more news of the otherness, the shoulder is doing really good. I rode yesterday for a total of 5 hours and did 3 of my 7 laps last night at nearly race pace. This next week will be pretty laid back for training. It's my work week, so I will be out here riding my 1 mile loop many times. Sunday, I plan on doing a short interval session followed by a week of recovery rides before the 2 1/2 hour race next Saturday. Thursday morning, Andrea and I will be heading to Granby for nationals. The Granby race is held at Sol Vista Ski Area (actually called the Granby Ranch now) and is around 9500 ft above sea level, has more climbing than any course I've ever rode, and a decent so long your hands go numb from squeezing the bar for so long. ALSO, there will be most of the counties fastest mountain bikers to race against. So no reason to be nervous or anything.

Next Fat Fish Racing event will probably be July 22 or 29.

The Thursday Fat Fish/Casper Mtn Ride

Hello dirt lovers, Adam here. I am pumped for the Thursday night competitive ride and I hope you are too. Finally we will get to ride on some single track that is not cow trail. Although we will get back to that again here soon, but my exploring has taken a step backward with my shoulder being a little hurt.

If you didn't get a chance to race at the Red Cross Casper Mountain Bike Race a week ago, then you are going to love the course that the Fat Fish are going to put together. If you DID get the chance to race a week ago, then you will also love the course because we are going to add some fun stuff and take out that loop around the nordic center.

I will find a path to challenge us for multiple laps with a total time of around 1 and a half hours. Those of you who choose to ride for less are more than welcome to stop a lap or two early and enjoy a beverage and hot dog.

The details are as follows.

Who: anyone can ride with us. We want anyone with a bike and a helmet to feel welcome at all or any of our Fat Fish Racing competitive rides.
What: A relaxed or competitive pace. Its your call. Test your fitness amongst some of Caspers fastest, or go with the flow and ride next to your friend or brother or spouse.
When: 6:30 start on Thursday, July 8
Where: Meet at the small parking lot immediately past the Nordic Center. There is an outhouse and enough parking for all of us there.
Why: Because you CAN! There is no fee so there is no big deal if you ride one lap or 4. Do whatever you want, as long as its safe.

As always...... Bring your helmet and absolutely NO RIDING until you have signed a Fat Fish Racing Event Release Form.

Be safe and i'll see you out on the trails.

Adam
