ONE TRACK MIND!!

Cyclocross is ALL that I think about now!!  I had to pull up some photos of Fish StiCX races from the past two years.  Each year, they get more fun.  This season is going to be a blast and we really want to focus on getting the kids to come and ride their bikes.  It doesn't matter if they have training wheels or one of those bikes that don't have pedals..... Your kids will LOVE riding and will love watching you race at these events.  Put a cowbell in a kids hand and tell them to make noise.... oh yeah, you know they will be smiling all day long :)

Enjoy these old pictures....  I hope we get one race with a ton of snow like we have the last two years.  They are so much fun to ride in the elements!

Adam

If you knock over a barrier, the penalty is that you must put it back together before taking off again.  Leif didn't hit this one, but picked it up anyway.... Classic Leif!

The result of not committing to a super fast approach up to a barrier :)

WAY TO GO CASPER RACERS!!!!
As you can see below in the results of the Bearlodge Classic in Sundance, WY, A racer from Casper placed on the podium in almost every category!  A big shout out to all the Fat Fish jersey wear'ers, but also to Andrea Young, and Kirk and Lisa Kissack who took on the challenge of this technical race.  You guys rock!  Also, way to go John Stanart for diving into the longest bike ride you've ever been on.  Might as well be at a race right?!?!?!  Seriously, Awesome Job Everyone!  Below are some photo's I could find of Casper riders, Neil, Christopher and John.  Plus some kids that I think are totally ready for some cyclocross racing next month.  Enjoy!

Cyclocross Practice

Hey racers!

Adam is hosting a cyclocross practice at Mike Sedar Park this Wednesday, 9/19/2012.  6:15pm start.  We talk a bit about what Cyclocross is, why EVERYONE should ride cyclocross and then do some drills.  Anyone can race cyclocross and the practice is for beginners to intermediate riders.  Some of the more advanced racers may get bored with the pace.  Thats OK :)  We will have fun on our bikes and get more pumped about the first Fat Fish Racing CX Race on October 6th.

Any bike is welcome... Seriously!!  There are only about 5 people in Casper with cross bikes anyway.  Shoot, I'm riding a mountain bike with skinny tires on it and calling it a cross bike.  Ride whatever bike you want.

Thanks

Mountain bike "Racing" is nearly over with only two more Wyoming races:  1) Sept 16th Bearlodge Classic in Sundance WY and 2) Sept 22nd Jurassic Classic in Lander WY.  Those two races would be great to end your fat tire fetish on.  After that, take a week off and work on your bikes.  If you rock the 29er wheels, did you know that you could slap on a pair of skinny cyclocross tires???  Thats what I do.  Hey, not everyone can afford thousands for another bike, so why not less then 100 bucks for an insanely fast CX setup that will get you moving faster than you ever have on the fat tires.  You do sacrifice the "cush" of the big rubber, but having a smaller contact patch = speeeeeeeed.

Save the date of October 6 for Race #1 of the Fat Fish Cyclocross Series.  This will be a 3 race series that is guaranteed to have you smiling while you race.  Super fun, super spectator friendly, many laps on a short course.  Times and locations will be posted in about a week.

Until then, click on the links below if you'd like to look at some great photos of the local racers in action.  Thanks Brian Petterson for sharing!
