12-24 Club's Race to Recovery

Another beautiful day of riding on the mountain has come and past, but this one may have been the best day of riding EVER!  New single-track, a huge and competitive racing field, sunny skies, great food afterwards, more prizes then I've ever seen before, and of course a Fat Fish Racer taking the top 3 spots in the Expert category!  It does not get any better than that.

This race was a fundraiser for the 12-24 Club but was hosted by the bike shop Mountain Sports.  Bruce with Mountain Sports has been a huge supporter of the Fat Fish Racing Team and he let us and everyone know about it with his shout out at the beginning of the race.  Thanks a ton Bruce!  We appreciate your support and it just drives us to do more for mountain biking in Casper.  Anyone interested in an 8 hour race at Hogadon?  Seriously....  With the Stone Temple 8 being cancelled this year, someone in Wyoming should pick this sweet endurance event up.  Why not us in Casper?

Well, have a great week and enjoy these pictures on your way.  Get some riding in on the mountain, at Alcova, Muddy Mountain, Glendo, Gurnsey, Laramie, or any of the other fun places within 2 hours of town.  The options are endless!  Wherever you go, have fun and remember to keep the rubber side down....

aaahhhhhh Single Track

What a great night it was to be riding some of Casper Mountains amazing single track!  We had 55 riders tonight and so many new riders that our total number of different riders to make the first 4 Fat Fish Racing Events comes to 104 people!!!  Thank you Casper for all of your support.

A big thanks goes to Compression Leasing Services who donated the food for this ride.  We also want to thank Ragged Edge, Mountain Sports, Gear Up, The Nic, Pottery By You, and of course Schneider Electric for all of the AMAZING prizes that we have to raffle.  The Fat Fish Racing Events could not be offered for free if it wasn't for our sponsors supporting us. Thank You!

I hope you all are ready for a full out RACE this Sunday on Casper Mountain.  Get to Mountain Sports to register early and save some time on Sunday.  Race starts at 11:30am, so get there early to warm up and get registered.  I'm pretty sure all the Fat Fish will be there in orange and green ready to race!  I can't wait.  Since my new bike isn't in, I'll be borrowing a friends ride.  I hope it doesn't suffer the same career ending injury as my last bike did.  Maybe I should be more careful with this one.

See you Sunday!

RIDE POSTPONED!

Hey Fat Fish Racers and Riders

Due to the recent bout of rain on the mountain, we are going to postpone the ride to this WEDNESDAY.  Temps will be nearly 20 degrees warmer and the chance of rain is almost nill.

This will be a GREAT warm up ride to prepare us for all the singletrack coming our way for next Sundays 12-24 Club Race To Recovery Mountain Bike Race on Casper Mountain!

What does that mean for the women's ride?????  Come to the FFR ride on Wednesday to find out!

See you Wednesday

Also, if you LOVE racing, check out the first Laramie Mountain Bike Series Race this Tuesday.  A few of the Fat Fish will be there.  Make all three local races this week for a super uber endurance racing challenge!

Last bike ride.  Gotta love the GREEN!

The course is set for this Monday's Wrong Way ride.  This is FFR Event #4.  If you've joined us on Facebook, you already know that we have even more schwagg to finish out the rest of the season :)

The two categories will have two different trails to ride on.  The A course is a 4 mile loop and it is very tight singletrack.  The A course will be more challenging then the B course.  The A's will do two loops.

Bring your appetite and your number plates!  Bring your own marker for writing your number if you want to speed things up.  Ride starts at 6:30pm and we will meet at the parking lot just past the Nordic Center.

Gearing up!

I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend!  It sure was beautiful.  3 Fat Fish hit the local trails for over 5 hours and 55+ miles in one outing on Saturday.  I am quite jealous I could not join them  :)

Of course some Honey Stinger  product was there to keep them refueled during their ride.  Some Honey Gels and this here energy bar were my only riding companions for my friday night ride up Jackson Canyon.  I found some AMAZING cow trail that we will have to get together and ride sometime.  The only irritating part of the ride was my constant fear of mountain lions.  That is why I need you all to join me when I do this exploring!

Anyways.....   In one week the Fat Fish will be hosting ride number 4 of the series which is called, WRONG WAY!  Finally we will be on some smooth and twisted single track.  Timing WILL be ready and a fast, multi-loop course will be set!  Food and drinks will be a plenty as this ride is sponsored by a local business which we will share later.

THEN, in just two weeks from today is the Casper Mountain 12-24 club Mountain Bike Race For Recovery!!!!   Heck Yeah this is a race and heck yeah the Fat Fish will be there ready to RIP!!  Mark your calendar if it isn't already, June 26th is the date and it will be on Casper Mountain with parking and party at the Nordic Center Lodge.  For info, head on down to Mountain Sports bike shop and talk to any of the wonderful folks there.

Enjoy the pictures, get out and ride, and remember to keep the rubber side down!

Get ready folks for the June 20th, WRONG WAY mountain bike ride.  This will be event # 4 of the Fat Fish Racing ride series.  The course is already planned, the right people have already been contacted and we are a 100% go for this ride.  Thank you to all who showed up to the last ride (45 riders!) and being understanding of our last minute changes.  It all worked out except for timing.  I am planning to have a make up ride that will be in Casper later this summer.  Until then....

We will be riding on Casper Mountain for the Wrong Way ride and we plan on leaving the course set for the first WOMEN'S ONLY RIDE to follow on Tuesday or Wednesday.  All women who are interested in the ride, please contact fatfishracing@gmail.com to get a hold of the Women Only Ride, ride leader.

What a good night to watch a ride!

You don't need to be wrapped in spandex to enjoy a ride with the Fat Fish Racing Team.  Come out and give it a try, we know you'll have a great time!

And if the location, friends, free food, free entry to ride, free drinks and mind blowing trails aren't enough to persuade you to join us, how about some free prizes?  Now you're interested :)

See you at Wrong Way!

Check out Facebook for most current news and trail info about the Wrong Way.

DIRECTIONS TO TOMORROWS RIDE!!

Bring your sunscreen and plenty of water to The Crazed Cow Bike Ride tomorrow for ride #3 of the Fat Fish Racing series.  Food, cold drinks, schwagg and laughs follow every time!  We cant wait to see you there.  Ride description will be drawn out for you to view at registration.  A helmet must be worn!  Thank you to all the supporters of Fat Fat Racing!  Your smiles, high fives and thanks just fuel us up even more for the next event!  Check out the directions below and remember, you are a strong person.  There are no failures at a Fat Fish Racing event.

These directions look long, but its really easy to get there :)  enjoy!

From downtown Casper: Get on the interstate and head south to the Hat Six Road exit.  Get off the interstate and take a Left on Hat Six Road.  Go a few hundreds yards until you come to a stop sign.  Turn Right at the stop sign.  You are now on the old Glenrock highway also labeled hwy 20/26.  Drive exactly 11 miles on this road (towards Glenrock) until you see the bright orange Fat Fish Racing sign on the fence where you are going to turn right.  You are now on rough gravel but any car can drive this part.  At the first fork, turn left.  At the next fork turn right.  From the highway you will reach the underpass of the interstate at .9 miles.  If you are driving a car, this is where you will stop.  If you have a truck and want to drive through the water/mud under the interstate, go right ahead and keep driving another 1.5 miles to the ride start. There will be a shuttle truck if you don't want to ride the 1.5 miles to the ride start. If you have a truck and want to throw some people in the back end while you're headed to the ride start, just ask the poor guys in their cars if they want a ride :)
Should take you about 20 minutes to be parked if your driving from downtown.
See you there and please pass this information on as soon as possible since I got these directions to you so late.

Thank you!

MONDAY NIGHT RIDE CHANGES!

Get ready folks for the Crazed Cow Mountain Bike Ride!

Due to the number of cows and calves in the area we were planning on riding, a change needed to be made.  Luckily Casper has some amazing land owners in the area!   There will be some GREAT trails for us to ride and the Fat Fish are even more excited about this ride.  Why are we more excited?  Because now we will all be riding new trail while the Hat Six Heart Ache ride is still in the mix for later in the year!  We are getting access to some beautiful new spaces.

This year is going to ROCK!!

Directions to the ride will be posted on SUNDAY night.  The location will be East of Casper about 15 to 20 minutes.  Ride will still start at 6:30 for A class and 6:31 for B class.

Multiple loops!
Great people!
Free ride!
Free food!
SCHWAGG!  There will be even MORE free stuff after this ride than the last ride.

We can't wait to see you Monday!

Enjoy your weekend and keep the rubber side down

Number Plates!  Please bring your own plate and twisty ties to attach your number plate to the next ride.  This is so we can have more accurate results without you having to yell out your names.  So please look at the previous post with results for your assigned number.  If this is going to be your first Fat Fish Racing ride, then bring your plate and twisties.  We will have a number to assign you.

When you get to the ride, find us!  Register, sign the waiver, double check with us so that our numbers are the same as yours and we'll be ready to ride by 6:30.  Bring plenty of WATER!

Have a great weekend
