Cycling in Casper is just awesome right now.  There is so much opportunity for a biker of any skill level.  We are excited to be a part of it!!

The women's rides have been a hoot (so I've heard from some of the ladies who have attended) and the beginners are learning skills and trails fast!! Way to go ladies!!

The group rides are getting pretty big.  The last ride there were 20 on the trails at Muddy Mountain.

The full moon rides are still going strong and we get a pretty good turnout at each event.  The next full moon is Tuesday.  So stay posted on location and ride host.

The Fat Fish series races have been crazy awesome!  We are so happy to see so many on the trails.  Over 200 people are registered for the series and our largest race was last weed with 103 racers.  Please thank your race hosts and more importantly, our teams sponsors!  Without their help, we could not make this happen.

The WY High School Mountain Bike League season starts August 1st, but teams in Casper, Laramie, Cheyenne and Lander have started getting together for camps, skills clinics, bike maintenance and more.  Check out the Casper area teams link at www.casperyouthmtb.blogspot.com for any information on that.  Registration for the team ends late July and the FIRST EVER WYOMING YOUTH MTB RACE will be held August 12th on Casper Mountain.  There will be a citizens race that day too.  The coaches encourage you to help volunteer and then race when the youth are done.  Here is video of the race course for that race....   https://vimeo.com/44887914

Remember racers, mountain biking can be dangerous at times.  Ride safe and always wear your helmet.  I also highly suggest full finger gloves all the time!!  Check out this video and then think what his hands would have looked like had he not worn gloves...  http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=MM_Y03bnqyk

Happy trails

Wednesday evening rides

Tonight will be a beautiful night for a ladies only ride on Casper Mountain.  Moms, bring your daughters and meet Lisa up there at the small parking lot just past the Nordic Center lodge.  Lisa is a Fat Fish Racer who has lots of racing and riding experience.  She will host a ride up to 2 hours in length with plenty of stops so the group all stays together.  Wheels will be rolling at 6:30pm tonight!  Bring your own snacks and drinks.

Next Wednesday (June 13th) is going to be Singles Night!!  At 6:30pm, meet at the parking lot just past the Nordic Center Lodge for some fun bike riding with singles who share your passion for the outdoors.  Don't have a bike but want to meet some people, try a trail run.  Meet the mountain bikers before and after the group ride for some mingling over post-ride drinks.  Tell your friends and have some fun!

Directions to the Hill Climb

We can't wait to see you tomorrow night!  Bring plenty of water as this is going to be a warm one.  Beginners will start at 6pm with a pre-ride meeting starting 5 minutes the prior.  Sport and Expert racers will begin at 6:15pm with staging and a pre-race meeting 5 minutes prior.  Bring extra water!

To get here, start by driving out of casper on Hwy 220 towards Alcova.  Approximately 8 miles past the west side walmart will be the turn off for Bessemer Bend (just a little past the Goose Egg Inn Restaurant). There is a sign for Bessemer Bend Rd and also a brown sign that says "Historical Site 2", but due to construction, the road is difficult to see.  So just be prepared for this right hand turn.  We will also try to post a Fat Fish sign on this road sign.  From here, just stay on the pavement until you see the historical site.  You WILL NOT MISS IT :)

Please carpool if possible.  If parking space is getting tight, try parking on Speas Road as the traffic on that road is much less then Bessemer road.

See you tomorrow and remember to bring extra WATER!!

Hey Ladies
