Categories:
C - Category: mens division and women's division are separate.
The C Category is for the rider who is still working on skill and fitness or who is new to mountain biking.  If you are a beginner to racing, try this category.  If you find that the races are to short or easy, then you are always welcome to bump up to Sport.  The Rec Category races will be around 20-30 minutes for the fastest riders.  Our youngest and newest racers last year were 12 and they would fit great here in this category.

B - Category: mens division and women's division are separate
B is for those with good bike handling skills.  There are many who are competitive in this category and take racing serious.   The Sport races of 2014 are planned on being longer than what you did last year with finishing times between 50 and 60 minutes for the fastest guys and gals.  Men and Women will start together.

A - Category: men and women are combined
These ladies and gentlemen are out for blood and want to win!  More technical courses with longer distances.  Competitive!

Kids Race
When possible, we will have a kids race before the start of the adults race.  This all depends on spare volunteers and the course venue.  The course will be a small loop all within viewing of parents.

Points
There are 7 scheduled Fat Fish Races.  Your top 6 scores will be added up for the end of the year awards.  This means your worst score will be thrown out if you make all 7 events.  No points will be transferred between categories.  So choose wisely and stick with it.

Rules are as follows:
*Racers must wear a helmet
*No earphones or music allowed
*Show up on time so we can start on time
*Racers must have signed the waiver to race
*Always remember your number plate
*Respect the land we are lucky enough to ride on.
*Respect the land owners who graciously allow us to ride on/through their property.
*Respect all other mountain bikers.  So when you pass someone, let them know by kindly saying something like, "hey way to go rider, passing on your left".
*Follow directions and rules given at the beginning of each race
*Show up for the races on time so we can start on time (important!!)
*Be kind to the race hosts.  We are not a business and we are just trying to have fun.  If I mess up your score, if we run out of food, if you don't win a prize, just remember that you're paying about $2 per race and you're not paying $15 per person to race which is typical of a weekday race anywhere else.
