Great weather, great riding!

The temperature at the end of the ride was 51 degrees and the wind had calmed down to almost nill. It was a great ride that I got to enjoy with some old and new friends. I'm feeling really good that the Fat Fish Racing name is getting to be heard from more and more people. Even though the team has been around for a year, I realize that there are a ton of people (on bikes) who have not heard of the team. The Fat Fish Racing Team wants to reach those people in Central Wyoming so we can connect on the trails. We are also working to get more people on bikes. Kids especially, but also adults who haven't been on their bikes in a while are our main target. We want to keep our organized races FREE or as cheap as possible to make it easy for the whole family to enjoy the trails.

We have some pretty great trails around us and we hope to share that with everyone.

Do you have any trail maps from the area that you would like to share with us and the world? If so, please email the team at fatfishracing@gmail.com.

Thanks for the great ride today and nice meeting all you new folks that came to ride and watch.
Stay tuned for the next Fat Fish Race and/or Ride. It is looking like temps in the low 40's again next weekend. So keep the chain lubed and tires full of air!

US Grand Prix of Cyclocross

Way to go Emil and Steve at the Grand Prix of Cylocross this last weekend in Fort Collins. Both of them competed in the Cat 4 Mens division and finished less than 5 minutes from the leader, and just 3 seconds apart from each other.

Here are a few pic's of Emil in action.

Morad Cyclocross Race. November 20th!

Saturday CX Race at crossroads recap: Snow was falling like sheets of paper and the wind was absent the whole morning. The trails were lightly covered in snow, making each corner a little slick. Each lap I would see new tire marks of people taking corners really wide and body marks in the snow from crash landings. So needless to say, Saturdays CX race at Crossroads was amazing. "I felt like a kid again", was said by a rider after the race, while we all enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate. The course was a smoking fast 3 mile loop that Colby and Leif completed 4 times while the rest of us only managed 3 laps in the 60 minute limit. Thank you Leif for putting together a great course and for making it a very memorable one too (with the barriers so high that I'm thinking about carrying a step ladder the next time you set a course) hahahaha.

Do YOU want to feel like a kid again???

Then read below!

First I must say how excited the Fat Fish Racing Team is to say that we will be hosting another Cyclocross race this upcoming weekend. This time it will be at Morad Park. This little park is mostly known for its piles of dog do's littering the single track trails. If you are a road biker and have ridden through on the paved trail, you've probably done some cyclocross style moves jumping over dogs and leashes of granny walking her 2 Chihuahua's, 3 pitbulls and great dane.

After this upcoming weekend, Morad Park will have a totally new reputation of being the greatest place to have a cyclocross race, EVER! The park is small with a bunch of trails. I know that the laps will be short and that with the way the weather is looking (highs in the upper 40's) there will be some muddy trails!!! This race will be fun. I guarantee it!

This area will be awesome for spectators as well. The loop will go right next to the parking lot and you can set up your tri-pod for picture taking at one of the muddier sections of the course by walking about 1 minute south of the parking lot.

A bit muddy
You can probably expect to look like this guy after the race. This race will make you feel like a kid again.

I will be riding the trail later this week and will post all the information about the race after that. Probably Wed, or Thurs night.

Enjoy!

Saturday CX Race

The course is going to be a blast. Keep those fat tires on because there is plenty of twisty and techy terrain. The loop that Leif has for us all is a really fast rolling couple of miles that should take us about 7 to 10 minutes to complete. We will start by doing the same hillclimb/prelude that we did last race and then drop down into the loop that we will be hammering around for the remainder of the 60 minutes.

The trails tonight were all tacky with a few patches of sticky. We are thinking that the trails aught to be pretty hard at 9:30 am Saturday after a night of below freezing weather. Bring the warm gloves and a vest and some casual wear to hang out in after the race. I'll have some hot water for everyone, so bring your coco, coffee, tea mixtures to stay warm and hang out after the ride.

Can't wait to see you Saturday!
Thought I'd add a nice holiday inspired picture taken a few days ago from our driveway. I hope it is snowing during the race on Saturday. Enjoy!

Saturday CX Ride

Cyclist of all ability levels are welcome to join the Fat Fish Racing Team this Saturday for another sweet Cyclocross ride. This will take place at Crossroads and start at 9:30am again. That time was perfect because we were all done and could be home by 11am giving you much needed family time or shopping time before the Thanksgiving weekend.

Meet in the parking lot at the Mike Lansing Field. Park way in the back near the children's playground.

Rain or shine, we will be riding. You can probably count on the trail being a little wet, so lets have some fun!

See you Saturday,

The Fat Fish

Saturday Race Recap

There is no way that I would have rather spent my Saturday morning than to ride my bike. It is the end of the year and the riding will soon be over but you still have the chance get somecyclocross racing in with the Fat Fish Racing Team.

The race today was so fun! It started with a hill climb on some new single-track and after a half a mile of loose flat trail we descended down into the main riding area. We all rode for 65 minutes and completed 9 or 10 laps. There were two necessary dismount areas and another twoobstacles that most of us were able to bunny hop. You can probably expect to find some more of this same type of fun for next Saturday, except a different route. There are so many options at crossroads, we will never have the same course twice.

Enjoy the photos and hope to see you next Saturday.
